To know Christ and to make Him known.

Our Gospel of Mark Bible study continues.

Today we are studying Mark 8:1 - 10 another amazing story of Jesus feeding 4,000 people.

This is the second such large scale “feeding miracle” that is recorded.  If you look back to “where” Jesus was, it appears that he might be with non-Jewish people.  While that is not singularly critical to the miracle, if true it would again show Jesus’ concern for all.

After reading this section of Mark’s Gospel consider the following questions:

  1. What motivated Jesus to feed the people?

  1. What was the disciple’s reaction?  Why do you think they had this reaction?

  1. If there were only a few people, or if the disciples had enough food available for the people present – who would you conclude was responsible for the feeding: Jesus who ordered it, or the disciple who did it?

  1. Who is Jesus showing you he is? What is God teaching you about situations that He invites you into that seem too big?
